Abstract Machine vision is playing an important role in different sectors such as medicine, inspection and quality control. A key aspect in the industry is the choice of the right technology for each application. The following work delves into the different types of lighting and imagers throughout the entire electromagnetic spectrum as well as some illustrative use cases. This compilation of information is a cornerstone to be able to start an industrial project in this field that is now starting. A preliminary methodology is also established for the selection of the appropriate tools and equipment for each use case. |
