Abstract

The objective of this work is to study the feasibility of creating a company dedicated to the distribution of road and mountain bikes, through a physical store located in the outskirts of Barcelona, in the town of Sant Cugat del Vallès.
We are in a context where the world of cycling is acquiring more followers by leaps and bounds. As fans get more experience, they feel the need to keep improving by acquiring new components and materials of the best quality, with the aim of improving their performance. However, investing in a change of bicycle or components is not an easy decision, since many factors are taken into account, in addition to being clear about the duration they have to offer and the use to which they will be put.
That is why we believe that this process requires customization for the consumer, to facilitate this purchase decision, in addition to making sure that their bicycle is to their liking, and not just another one on the market. Without forgetting that it adapts to your morphology and does not cause injury or discomfort.
This work aims to show that there is a consumer who demands needs that the market does not provide directly and effectively, and that their satisfaction is necessary in the world of cycling.
We want to distribute road and mountain cycling bikes adapted to the client, in their ergonomics, through biomechanical studies carried out by experts. They will be adapted to your taste, where you can choose from a wide variety of components to configure your own bicycle in a very efficient way, and therefore have the ideal bicycle at a price adapted to your budget.
There will be a single sales channel that will be through the physical store. We plan to locate it in Sant Cugat del Vallès, near Barcelona, where it is easy and accessible for consumers from nearby locations to arrive; by highway or public transport.
The establishment will have a large area, which will have: a mechanical workshop; to proceed with the repairs of the bicycles of our clients and external clients as an additional service to our business; a room for carrying out biomechanical studies, to assess the correct posture of the cyclist on the bicycle, as well as the measurements and sizes that will be required and a space for the storage of essential bicycle components and other accessories.
The rest of the space will be used for the exhibition of the series bicycles and components so that customers have an idea of how they will want to configure it. Using digital screens, they will be able to configure their bicycles, as well as obtain detailed and technical information on the different components. In addition, there will be various accessories, such as clothing and cycling clothing. As regards employees, we will initially have two sales representatives who will advise customers with the utmost attention. They will perform other functions such as, make estimates and customer collections, in addition to making sure that the store is in perfect condition. In the workshop there will be two mechanics and one person in the biomechanical study room.
The sources of financing will be from capital contributions by both partners in equal parts of € 20,000, and an external source of financing of € 15,000 from a loan requested from ICFs, for the correct acquisition of fixed assets and a stable control of the treasury.
From a commercial point of view, the reasons that our clients will have for deciding to buy from us and not from the competition will be: the security of being aware that they are buying a product that is in accordance with their ergonomic and physical needs, ensuring that they avoid any type of injury or discomfort, taking into account that they will get the maximum comfort and performance, thanks to the biomechanical study previously carried out.
In addition, they will have the maximum customization, being able to design the bicycle themselves with the components that they create suitable according to their personal taste and budget.
In this way, we differentiate ourselves from the competition by offering customers a wide range of possibilities, instead of selling them a standard bike, which will not fit perfectly, either because of the riding style or because of the geometry of the frame. as well as the market price.
