Abstract

Currently, soft actuators are making their way into multiple applications due to their great capacity to adapt to human tissues. Not only that, but this compatibility also allows their ap-plication as part of medical equipment to be of great relevance. The future of surgery, there-fore, may take a turn thanks to the study of these materials.
The present final degree project aims to provide new insights and know-how by the compari-son and analysis of two different silicone designs. The fundamentals of this work constitute a first proof of concept for the engineering of soft actuators with physical intelligence and ad-vanced properties.
In this study, two different soft actuators are going to be analysed. On the one hand, the idea is to replicate the actuator developed in 2017 by Miriyev. On the other hand, it is going to be developed a new formulation that includes silicone oil as it is suspected that it could lead to optimal properties.
