Abstract There is a micromechanical model for the study of the tensile rupture of unidirectional hybrid composites developed by Dr. José Manuel Guerrero García in his doctoral thesis “Micromechanical modeling of hybrid unidirectional composite materials under fiber tensile loading". In his work, the groups (clusters) of broken fibers are always calculated assuming that they are positioned in the center of the material section, and therefore, that they have a completely circular shape. The objective of this work is to add the possibility that the model takes into account the position of the groups of broken fibers touching the limits of the material section, both in a semicircular shape (when they are at the edges), and in a quarter shape circle (when positioned at the corners). These changes would allow the model to accurately simulate the section of real materials. |
