Abstract

The main objective of this final degree work is to determine what type of photovoltaic installation, (installation with fixed photovoltaic panels or adjustable photovoltaic panels with solar tracking on a horizontal axis (with or without correction to avoid shading between panels)), It would allow more solar energy to be captured and it would be more economically viable, to be installed on the terrace of the IQS School of Management building. To do this, a panel distribution has been designed and an algorithm has been created for each of the proposed modalities (fixed panels; taking into account the shadows in an optimistic way, fixed panels; taking into account the shadows in a pessimistic way; panels adjustable on a horizontal axis; taking into account the shadows in a pessimistic way and panels adjustable on a horizontal axis avoiding shadows). The implementation of this algorithm has been studied in 2021 to be able to make a comparison of the energy capture that would be obtained in that year considering only the shadows caused between panels and without considering the potential shadows created by architectural elements.
