Abstract

Automation and digitization of industrial processes are important for an Industrial Engineer and any company that seeks to have a significant competitiveness and presence in today’s global market. This final degree project develops and records the necessary methodology to automate a manual finishing process that is part on the manufacturing of silicone sleeves, starting from a robotic cell purchased by the Venair group for this purpose.
In addition, a study is conducted that quantifies the productive and economic improvement that means automating the wrapping process in the manufacture of silicone sleeves. Improve-ment proposals are made for the current robotic cell and data recording methods are estab-lished through Human-Machine Interface (HMI) to be able to control and analyse the produc-tive information of the wrapping station.
The realization of the above has increased the overall process yield by 51% thanks to the efficiency of replacing a previously manual process with an automated and standardized one.
