Abstract
This final thesis provides a new business proposal for an online consulting nutrition company, with a special focus on vegan nutrition. Nowadays, lots of people want to try to follow a vegan diet, but they struggle to find the right ingredients to replace dairy, meet, fish, etc. Our company would provide them with daily diets and other services to simplify the introduction of vegan alternatives in our customers’ diets.
The nutrition and fitness market has been on the rise for the past decade. People have started to give more importance to what they eat, healthiness is now the focus. Thus, it is a market with a lot of potential and opportunities. Our business will be 100% online, so our primary target millennials and young generations. Also, there are more potential customers in that range of age, as the younger generations are the ones concerned about animal welfare, climate change, being healthy (all reasons related to why people choose veganism) and they are more eager to try new things. Our marketing strategy will mostly be done on social media, since our target audience spend a lot of time in these platforms. We will try to reach our potential clients and build a relationship with them mainly using Instagram and Twitter.
As mentioned, we will be a 100% online-based company, so we will not have an office. All the employees will work from home or wherever they choose as their workspace. Our service will run through our website and app, and we will use Microsoft Teams and WhatsApp as our means of communication inside the company and with the customer.
As I plan to reserve myself the control and decision making of the company, I will own the majority of the capital of the firm. However, the first year we are anticipating losses, so we will be looking for shareholders interested in buying the remaining stock of the company at its face value plus an issue premium to inject capital into the company and compensate for these losses. From then on, we are forecasting good amounts of profit, starting with a small profit in year 2 and keeping a steady growth to year 5 on.
