Abstract

The study carried out in this project consists of analyzing and comparing the mechanical properties of a variety of specimens manufactured by 3D printing. To find these properties, the specimens are subjected to Flexion tests, Traction tests and Fatigue tests. The selected polymers are Polylactic Acid, Polycarbonate and Nylon, all materials widely used in the industrial field and, above all, very popular in the world of additive manufacturing. Once all the test results have been obtained, the materials are compared with each other and those that show the best results are defined. At the same time, two different printing orientations are studied to show the typical Anisotropy of 3D printing, which is one of the main shortcomings of this technology. Finally, recommendations are made about the materials with the best performance.
