Abstract

Industrial paints are used today in a wide variety of applications in the market. From protecting parts against corrosion and preventing wear and tear to solely serving as a decorative element. In the case of the loudspeaker industry, paint plays a very important role in the final product finish. This is due to characteristics that come from the specific components found in the formulation of this paint. Each component carries out a series of functions and, throughout this work, it will be explained in detail what these are and the importance they have depending on the intended use of the final paint.
This project begins with the need on the part of a client to obtain a paint for coating loudspeakers that will be used both in the most severe environmental conditions and in the most severe environmental conditions. A study of the paint currently used by the client is carried out, describing and analysing each of the components and explaining its manufacturing process, application and subsequent characterisation.
The second part of the project consists of a proposal for improvement that includes the new paint requirements. The necessary changes in composition are analysed and the manufacturing, application and characterisation processes of the new paint are studied.
Finally, as a result of the project, the new formulation is described, which meets the new requirements established by the customer in the conceptual phase.
