Abstract

Through this work it is intended to know the desalination process, as well as the energy needs that arise in the different phases of the process, in view of which different energy alternatives have been proposed, seeking to reduce the consumption of non-renewable energy. Throughout the work, desalination plants have been analyzed, focusing on those with reverse osmosis systems, and the processes with the highest energy consumption. Renewable alternatives have also been analyzed, selecting those with the greatest economic and technological viability at present. A pre has been carried out to verify the viability of the proposed alternative, determining a type plant, based on the desalination plant of El Prat de Llobregat, Barcelona, from which the energy studies have been carried out - carried out by means of analytical-, economic and environmental software and procedure.
