Feasibility Study for Co2 Methanation Plan

Author

Sansalvadó Carbonés, Oriol

The project proposes an economic study of a methanation plant to study the economic feasibility of transforming CO2 produced in industry, based on the case of a cement plant, into methane to reduce CO2 emissions.
A methanation plant has been simulated to do the economic study. Prior to the simulation, the different stages of the process were studied. These stages are: (i) pretreatment to remove unwanted compounds during the process, absorption and subsequent regeneration of CO2, (ii) reaction with the necessary reactor and catalyst and (iii) post treatment of the natural gas obtained.
The project also provides engineering documents about the methanation plant such as equipment process data sheets, mass balance or process diagrams among others.
