Abstract

The main objective of the project is to carry out a study of the mechanical behavior of metal parts obtained by additive manufacturing. In order to obtain the stress-strain curve and the bending behavior curve.
Firstly, bibliographic research has been carried out in order to understand the technology used for manufacturing, as well as the regulations applicable to the tests to be done. The materials analyzed are AISI 316L and 17-4PH. Both materials are stainless steels and depending on the printing parameters used, the final mechanical properties of the material will be different.
After that, the samples have been manufactured according to the experimental design. In parallel, some cubic samples have been prepared to check the loss of mass experienced by the samples after debinding and sintering, both post-processes necessary to obtain the final pieces. Tensile and flexural tests were carried out on the samples in accordance with the requirements of the stipulated standards.
Finally, the results of the bending and stress tests were obtained, and it has been evaluated the influence of the printing parameters on the results and how they affect the mechanical performance.
