Abstract

African Swine Fever is a highly contagious hemorrhagic disease caused by a virus from the Asfarviridae family. This virus affects both domestic and wild pigs and morbidity and mortality are around 100%. After its relative control in Europe in the early 2000s, it was reintroduced into the continent through the Georgia region in 2007, reaching a presence in 11 European countries and in 2018, an outbreak, still active, it shook China and lost more than 200 million pigs. Our role is to develop the vaccine, but we will not be in charge of bringing the product to market, we want a company with a high global projection to do so. To do this, we will patent the product and assign the rights. In return, we will receive a payment of €1,000,000 and royalties of 10% until a competing product goes on the market. We must consider that it is a unique product in the market and that with the European, Chinese and North American (USA) markets we would be talking about the possibility of vaccinating 500,000,000 pigs every 6 months. Reaching a total introduction at first is difficult, therefore, we will try to achieve a market introduction of 16% in the first year, which represents 160,000,000 vaccines per year. The price established for each of them is approximately €1 .
