Abstract

We think that the business idea may be a good opportunity to take advantage of a little-exploited tourism sector in Mallorca. It is true that in the Balearic Islands the tourism sector is already widely exploited, but we want to reach a different audience, since our accommodation is not aimed at sun and beach tourism, or party tourism. It is aimed at cultural tourism, for people of advanced age and high purchasing power who can provide the island with quality tourism. Our accommodation will be a luxury rural hotel on the outskirts of Palma de Mallorca. the town is very good for such a business, since the farm is located near the capital and near the beginning of the Sierra de Tramuntana. In addition, it has several hectares of land that are used for the manufacture of sausages and the exploitation of island agriculture. With this, workshops and tastings will be held to show the local gastronomy to tourists. The obtaining of benefits will be based on the rent of rooms for short or long stay. In addition, with a restaurant that will serve breakfast and with a restaurant that will serve breakfast and dinner with typical Mallorcan food, with which we will also obtain benefits, although our main source of income will be the rooms.
We believe that the project, although difficult to carry out, is viable and can be profitable. We think it is difficult because we need a high initial investment for the reform of the farm. We, as main partners, will make an initial investment of € 200,000, and we will ask the bank for a mortgage loan of € 600,000. The company will not start making a profit until the third year of activity. The first two years we are going to create a portfolio of clients and we will earn a name and a good reputation. This project is very attractive given the size of the market. The Balearic Islands are a highly sought after tourist destination around the world, and it is a market that is growing exponentially, so if we create a good company image, we can easily achieve 100% employment in the future. We plan to have an occupancy of 40% during the low season in the first year, and in the high season, an occupancy of 70%. In the second year, revenue will increase 20% over the previous year. Finally, the third year we will obtain an increase in income of 25% compared to the second year.
