Abstract

Currently, the world is full of events and incidents that test the companies’ adaptability and strategies. Furthermore, due to great globalization and rising digitalization and connection between societies, a little political change, or an economic and/or social turnaround, might upset an entire industry’s modus operandi. Thus, organizations need to have a future vision in order be able to adapt to different situations and anticipate possible changes. As Jack Welch, former CEO and Chairman of General Electric, affirmed at the Annual Presidents Summit from 2016: “Organizations need to change before they have to”. [1] The aim of this project is to highlight and demonstrate the importance of the business strategy in the business world. For this purpose, the company ARITEX CADING SA, a solution supplier for the aeronautic and automotive industries, is going to be deeply studied. The organization was founded in 1961 and, since then, it has adapted to the highest market’s requirements. Its knowledge and experience in both industries has let the company gain an international recognized prestige and become one of the main world integrators. However, the recent outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has hit the business world really hard, especially the aeronautics and automobiles, threatening Aritex’s and other industry companies’ sustainability. As it will be seen along the project, in a first block, different external and industry analysis will be carried out, which will let the reader know the organization’s environment. By means of these studies, the company will be placed in the market and the industries’ opportunities and threats will be found out. The second block will consist of the presentation of Aritex Cading SA. The organization’s current strategic plan will be exposed, different internal analysis will be performed and the company’s financial situation will be discussed. Finally, a number of future scenarios will be set out and four possible strategies for Aritex will be described. The block will conclude with a series of strategic guidelines and general suggestions for the organization.
