Abstract

In this project, new methods are studied to increase the capacity of the Inbound department in the El Prat distribution center, one of the largest in Europe. Different methods are studied to increase productivity, improve efficiency, the effectiveness of the work performed and, finally, increase the safety of jobs.
After studying the workflows in the department, this study has focused especially on the efficient reception of the product through computer programs and the assignment of jobs at the beginning of the shift. Through changes in workflows, applications of new technological tools (Pallet decanta) and an improvement in working conditions, it has been possible to increase the productivity of workers and improve the efficiency of the work performed.
