Abstract

The defined media are of great importance in different OMIC studies at laboratory scale and, in addition Furthermore, they are highly relevant at an industrial level in certain fermentation processes.
The main objective of this work is to determine and optimize the vitamin content indispensable for the growth of Propionibacterium freudenreichii in a defined medium. To scale industrial, the main drawback associated with the use of defined media is the high cost present, therefore, reduce the number of vitamins and their concentration can mean a great impact on the economic balance of the process and thus, allow the use of a medium defined is feasible in the overall process. To respond to the main objective, in the first place, different aspects of the defined media, such as composition and applications, in lactic acid bacteria (LAB) of them Much information is available in this regard and, in addition, they share a biological niche with P. freudenreichii. Second, the theoretical considerations associated with the development of a defined environment through the design of experiences. Third, it has proposed an experimental procedure that should have been performed at the laboratory level to assess the vitamin needs of the P. freudenreichii strain. The proposed process, to In addition, it is evaluated by generating hypothetical results demonstrating its suitability for determine optimal vitamin concentrations for a defined medium.
