Abstract
Since when did cell reception replace human connection? Today, the mobile app market is booming more than ever. First and foremost, mobile app development trends are defined by demand. In 2020, one of the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic was a dramatic spike of demand for productivity mobile apps. In depth market research in the industry highlights a need but no tool showcased to bridge the deeply rooted gap between the people and their city. At HotSpot, we trust that to fill this gap, urban growth and human needs must reach an equilibrium. In fact, we believe people build cities and cities mold people. With the development of the beta software program, followed by the launch of the mobile phone application in Barcelona, HotSpot aims to create a humancentric urban ecosystem. HotSpot is the most interactive, secured, and empowering way to make a blank canvas your own. Once launched, users will no longer ponder the dos and don’ts about the current leisure activities taking place in their location of interest. Any lifestyle is welcomed to wake, personalize, and enhance the user’s social interactions. As close as a fingertip reach, the user has easy access to a variety of leisure activities, which they can pick and choose from to fulfill their needs and wants.
HotSpot is the development of a healthy ecosystem, consisting of both pre-existing infrastructures and a population of citizens interacting in a balanced symbiotic relation. Although the platform combines sets of interactions amongst multi-channel consumers and multi-channel revenue streams, the heartbeat of our ecosystem consists of the connection between people and hotspots in the user’s location of interest. With the surge of the COVID-19 pandemic, HotSpot can be used as a remedy to a post-pandemic context for both people and their cities as it is a tool seeking progress and recovery for humanity by creating a collective wealth where the space-time continuum of a city and its people are enhanced.
At HotSpot, we refer to two key players: a hotspot and a citizen. A hotspot is an active physical area of public interest where people can physically access and perform leisure-related activities within a city. The Sydney Opera, the Louvre, Santiago Bernabeu, and Pacha Ibiza are all examples of a hotspot. A citizen is any individual that is physically in the city of Barcelona. It is this connection between the hotspots and the citizens of a city that HotSpot would like to emphasize. HotSpot aims to bring citizens and their city’s hotspots closer than ever, knotting the ties between people and their city. HotSpot will make use of immersive technologies as a tool to reform the human experience between people and their cities, enhancing the user experience by making people connect, explore, feel, and share with their city. Every touch, slide, click, and interaction, will enhance the multifaceted connection between people and cities.
