Abstract

This final project consists on studying some aortic dissection models fluid dynamics before and after using a new treatment. Specifically, some descending aortic dissection models and a patch model are generated through SolidWorks, which will be simulated for different flow conditions. Pressure and velocity profiles at the artery, dissection, and the patch itself are evaluated in function of the patch’s porosity and the dissection’s model characteristics. This new treatment has proven a fit for purpose solution, which allows to clear out false lumen’s flow, reducing its size and pressure.
